Two say ordnance came from Bragg

Two brothers arrested in connection with an explosion Tuesday at a Raleigh scrap-metal yard told police they got the anti-tank munitions responsible for the blast from the Fort Bragg area.

Police also said live munitions could still be at homes in Lee or Harnett counties and warned residents to be vigilant.

The men, Salvador Gomez Urieta of Sanford and Javier Gomez Urieta of Broadway, are being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on suspicions they are in the country illegally.

A third man in a house in Broadway with the brothers was also detained. His name was not released. All three men were being held by federal authorities on immigration violations, said Joe Lenczyk, the Fayetteville and Smithfield resident agent in charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
